Rhyme-N-Reason 1 – July 10, 2007.

The first annual Rhyme-N-Reason Conference was held at Oasis Hotel in Cape Coast, Ghana. This one-day event included the presentation of scholarly papers on hiplife music and lyrics, interactive demonstrations with artists, and 23 performances by hiplife artists and dancers. The event drew a crowd of hiplife performers, foreign tourists, students, and others interested in this unique element of global hip hop culture. Performers from Tamale and Takoradi participated along with artists from the Cape Coast area, resulting in a mix of languages and musical cultures.
